Named sectors of economic activity a company can operate within, from agriculture and manufacturing to software and financial services, each entity naming one sector rather than any one firm inside it. This type is its own organizing structure rather than a grouping label to subdivide further: a reader browses industries directly rather than through a subcategory tree, which is why no sub-grouping has been built here even as the list has grown. Excludes: the individual companies that operate within an industry, catalogued under Companies and Brands and assigned their primary sector there through the Global Industry Classification Standard rather than through this entity; and the macroeconomic account of a sector's structure and performance, which Economics catalogues, cross-linked by a same-as edge where the two genuinely describe the same underlying activity from different vantage points.
