Leather Industry

Leather is a strong, flexible and durable material obtained from the tanning, or chemical treatment, of animal skins and hides to prevent decay, primarily sourced from cattle, sheep, goats, horses, buffalo, pigs, ostriches and aquatic animals. Leatherworking is an ancient craft practiced for over seven thousand years, and today China and India are the world leading producers of leather goods, anchoring a global commercial industry built around this material.
