Paint and Coatings Industry

The paint and coatings industry manufactures coatings, coverings applied to the surface of an object or substrate, for decorative purposes, functional purposes such as protection from corrosion, or both at once. Its products range from ordinary paints and lacquers, which protect a substrate while also decorating it, to specialized functional coatings that change a surface adhesion, wettability or wear resistance, or add new properties such as magnetic response or electrical conductivity, and its output can be applied as a liquid, a gas or a solid such as powder coating.
