Toyota Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Toyota City, Aichi, Japan, and has grown to become the world's largest automobile producer by volume. It was founded by Kiichiro Toyoda and incorporated on August 28, 1937, and later pioneered manufacturing innovations including the Toyota Production System, the basis of what is known in the West as lean manufacturing.
