Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Baja California is the Toyota plant in Tijuana, Mexico that opened in 2002 as the first Toyota automotive plant in Mexico. It builds the Tacoma pickup for the North American market together with pickup truck beds, with a capacity of 166,000 vehicles a year and about 2,000 employees. In January 2006 Toyota announced that the plant would be expanded to make 50,000 Tacoma pickups and 200,000 truck beds, and in 2017 it built 104,622 Tacomas, all of them V6 double cab short bed versions.
