This is the largest and most varied group under this subcategory, gathering everything from single-product specialty chemical makers to the large multinational chemical groups whose own history traces back a century or more, and it is kept apart from Construction Materials and Metals and Mining, reserved for companies whose product is a building material or a mined and processed metal rather than a manufactured chemical compound.
