Celanese Corporation is an American specialty materials and chemical company headquartered in Irving, Texas, founded in 1918 as the American Cellulose and Chemical Manufacturing Company and renamed Celanese Corporation of America in 1927. It is a major producer of acetyl products and engineered polymers used across automotive, industrial, medical and consumer applications.
