German Railroads

This child group collects European Railroads members headquartered or based in Germany, spanning the modern national operator and its subsidiaries (Deutsche Bahn AG, DB Cargo, DB Regio), its twentieth century state predecessors (Deutsche Bundesbahn in West Germany, Deutsche Reichsbahn), the nineteenth century kingdom-era state and private railways that predate German unification (the Royal Bavarian Eastern Railway Company, the Bavarian Ludwig Railway, the Royal Hanoverian State Railways, the Royal Wurttemberg State Railways, the Palatinate Railway), and a large number of present day regional operators across the German states (Hessische Landesbahn, Niederbarnimer Eisenbahn, Rurtalbahn, the Wurttembergische Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft). At 27 members it is well under this atlas's oversized-group threshold and needs no further split.
