This child group collects Railroads members headquartered elsewhere in Europe, outside the United Kingdom and Ireland, including the historic state railways of the German, Austro-Hungarian and Italian kingdoms and empires before national unification and consolidation (Royal Bavarian Eastern Railway Company, Royal Wurttemberg State Railways, Royal Hanoverian State Railways, Victor Emmanuel Railway), the present day national rail operators of continental Europe, and the smaller post-Soviet and Balkan national railways formed after 1991 (Belarusian Railway, Azerbaijan Railways, Railways of Republika Srpska). At 179 members this child group also remains over this atlas's oversized-group threshold and is expected to need its own further split by country in a follow-on pass.
