This child group collects European Railroads members headquartered or based in the Netherlands, spanning the country's first railway company (the Hollandsche IJzeren Spoorweg-Maatschappij, opened between Amsterdam and Haarlem in 1839), the state-funded operating company that along with it formed the basis of today's Dutch rail network (the Maatschappij tot Exploitatie van Staatsspoorwegen), several nineteenth century regional Dutch companies (the Geldersch-Overijsselsche Spoorweg Maatschappij, the Nederlandsche Centraal-Spoorweg-Maatschappij, the Noord-Friesche Locaalspoorweg-Maatschappij), a Dutch-German cross-border company, and present day heritage railways (the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij, the Zuid-Limburgse Stoomtrein Maatschappij). At 9 members it is well under this atlas's oversized-group threshold and needs no further split.
