West Midlands England Railroads

This child group collects English Railroads members headquartered or historically based in the West Midlands, one of the larger of the nine regional child groups this atlas splits the parent group into. It spans lines centered on Birmingham (the Birmingham and Oxford Junction Railway, the Birmingham and Henley-in-Arden Railway), on Shropshire and the Welsh border towns (the Shrewsbury and Welshpool Railway, the Shrewsbury and Wellington Joint Railway, the Oswestry and Newtown Railway, the Oswestry, Ellesmere and Whitchurch Railway, the Potteries, Shrewsbury and North Wales Railway), on Herefordshire and Worcestershire (the Hereford Railway, the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway, the Worcester, Bromyard and Leominster Railway, the Oxford, Worcester and Wolverhampton Railway), on Staffordshire (the Cannock Mineral Railway, the Oldbury Railway) and the Cheshire-Shropshire border (the Nantwich and Market Drayton Railway), plus the London and Birmingham Railway's own predecessor company, the Cleobury Mortimer and Ditton Priors Light Railway, the Alcester Railway, the Much Wenlock and Severn Junction Railway and the Newent Railway. At 19 members it sits under this atlas's oversized-group threshold and needs no further split at this time.
