Swedish inventor and entrepreneur who founded a telegraph and telephone instrument repair workshop with his friend Carl Johan Andersson in central Stockholm in 1876, in a former kitchen of about 13 square meters. The workshop grew, after an 1883 partnership with Henrik Tore Cedergren, into the Ericsson telecommunications company. He retired from the firm in 1900.
