Semiconductors and Semiconductor Equipment

This group collects Information Technology sector members that design, manufacture or supply equipment for semiconductor chips: fabless chip designers, integrated device manufacturers that both design and fabricate their own chips, pure-play foundries that manufacture chips designed by other companies, and the specialized equipment makers whose lithography, deposition, etching, testing and wafer-fabrication machinery is used throughout the industry to build those chips. It also gathers a solar photovoltaic manufacturer classified here on its semiconductor manufacturing process, and a planned semiconductor fabrication plant not yet in production. This group is kept apart from Electronic Equipment, Instruments and Components, reserved for companies making finished electronic parts, connectors and instruments rather than the semiconductor chips or fabrication equipment themselves.
