ASML Holding N.V. is a Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer headquartered in Veldhoven, Netherlands, founded in 1984 as a joint venture between the electronics company Philips and ASM International. It designs and builds the photolithography machines used to print circuit patterns onto silicon wafers, and is the world's sole supplier of extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography systems, the equipment required to manufacture the most advanced computer chips.
