This child group collects United States Railroads members headquartered or historically based in the East South Central Census division (Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi). It includes the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, the Louisville, Harrods Creek and Westport Railroad, the Selma and Meridian Railroad and the Abbeville Southern Railway of Alabama, the Gulf and Ship Island Railroad and the Yazoo Delta Railroad of Mississippi, the Pontchartrain Railroad, and Progress Rail, a modern Alabama-headquartered rolling stock manufacturer. At 14 members it sits well under this atlas's oversized-group threshold and needs no further split.
