Rayonier Inc.

Rayonier Inc. is an American timberland real estate investment trust headquartered in Wildlight, Florida, one of the largest private timberland owners in the United States. It traces its origins to 1926 as ITT Rayonier, a producer of rayon and cellulose fiber products, and it gradually shifted its business over the following decades from chemical cellulose manufacturing toward owning and managing timberland, formally becoming a real estate investment trust in 2004 after separating its performance fibers manufacturing business into a standalone company. Rayonier owns and manages several million acres of timberland across the American South, the Pacific Northwest and New Zealand, generating revenue primarily from selling harvested timber and, increasingly, from leasing land for carbon capture, mitigation banking and other emerging non-timber uses.
