The Kingsbury Breweries Company traces to a Manitowoc, Wisconsin brewery founded in 1847 as the Kunz & Bleser Brewing Company, later known as the Gutsch Brewery, and renamed Kingsbury Breweries Company in 1933. Its Kingsbury near-beer label originated during Prohibition, and after Prohibition's end the company produced Kingsbury Pale and Kingsbury Ale under the slogan "Aristocrat of Beer." The Manitowoc operation merged into G. Heileman Brewing Company in 1963, and the Kingsbury brand was later brewed under license by several other breweries before Miller Brewing Company acquired the Kingsbury Near Beer label.
