The Isle of Man Railway is a narrow gauge steam railway on the Isle of Man, established in 1870 and opened for service in 1873. Now owned by the Isle of Man government and managed by its Department of Infrastructure, the railway runs on a 3 foot gauge line and today operates only its South Line, connecting Douglas with Castletown and Port Erin over about 15.5 miles, using original Victorian era steam locomotives and rolling stock. Its three other historical routes, to Peel, Ramsey and Foxdale, are closed, and the railway now functions primarily as a seasonal heritage tourist attraction.
