Henry Weinhard's, produced under the Blitz Weinhard name, is an American beer brand first brewed in 1856 in Portland, Oregon, by the brewer Henry Weinhard, whose original brewery moved in 1862 and grew to occupy two city blocks at Northwest 12th and Burnside by 1864. The brand is now owned by Molson Coors Beverage Company, headquartered in Golden, Colorado. It rose to prominence in 1976 with the introduction of Henry Weinhard's Private Reserve, regarded by many as the first craft beer made in Oregon, and built its reputation through marketing campaigns in the late 1970s and 1980s that repositioned it as a premium microbrew. The original Portland brewery closed in 1999 after Miller Brewing Company shut it down, and production moved to Tumwater, Washington, and Hood River, Oregon. Molson Coors discontinued the Private Reserve line in August 2021, though Hop Valley Brewing revived the brand in Eugene, Oregon, in 2022, and the company also makes a line of gourmet sodas.
