Dock Street Brewing Company

Dock Street Brewing Company is an independent craft brewing company founded in 1985 by photographer Rosemarie Certo and restaurateur Jeffrey Ware, beginning as a bottled beer operation in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. It takes its name from Philadelphia's historic Dock Street seaport district, which was the largest beer producer in the newly formed United States in the late 1700s, and it claims to be the first craft brewing company based in the Philadelphia area after Prohibition and one of the first in the country. By 1996 the company had grown into the 26th largest microbrewery in the United States, producing more than 25,000 barrels a year and distributing to 24 states. It now operates a 10,500 square foot brewpub and production facility in Philadelphia's Point Breeze neighborhood plus a Fishtown tasting room, producing about 2,500 barrels annually as of 2020 and distributing across Pennsylvania and New York.
