Amul is an Indian dairy cooperative brand owned by the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation, headquartered in Anand, Gujarat, and founded in 1946 as part of the "White Revolution" that made India the world's largest milk producer. Amul products, including milk, butter, cheese and ice cream, are sourced from millions of small dairy farmers organized into village-level cooperatives, and the brand is one of the best known consumer names in India.
