The dairy industry is built around the dairy farm and the dairy, the place where milk is stored and where butter, cheese and other dairy products are made or sold, ranging from a single room to a larger commercial establishment. In the United States the term also describes a dairy farm, or the part of a mixed farm, dedicated to producing milk for human consumption drawn from cows, buffaloes, goats, yaks, sheep, horses or camels.
