Georg Wilhelm von Siemens, known as Wilhelm von Siemens, lived from 30 July 1855 to 14 October 1919 and was a German telecommunications industrialist of the Siemens family. Born in Berlin, he was the second son of Werner von Siemens and a general partner in the family company, then called Siemens and Halske, which was incorporated in 1897. He chaired the board of the sister company Siemens-Schuckertwerke from 1903 to 1918. After the death of his brother Arnold in 1918 he succeeded him as chairman of Siemens and Halske AG and held that post until his own death the following year, when his half-brother Carl Friedrich von Siemens took over both chairmanships. From 1899 he founded Siemensstadt, a locality of Berlin built to expand production with new factories and housing for workers, and he is credited with championing the Berlin to Iraq railway system. He died in Arosa, Switzerland.
