Brewster Kahle

Founder and Executive

Brewster Kahle, born on 22 October 1960, is an American digital librarian, computer engineer and internet entrepreneur. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and engineering. Kahle founded the Internet Archive, which includes the Wayback Machine, and in 1996 he co-founded Alexa Internet. In 2012 he was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame. The source presents him first as a librarian and engineer and then as an entrepreneur, so his place in this atlas rests on the two internet organizations he started.
