Household hardware

Household hardware is the everyday metal and utility goods used in residential settings to build, fix and run a home. The category covers keys and locks, nuts, screws and washers, hinges, latches and handles, wire and chains, belts, plumbing and electrical supplies, hand tools, utensils, cutlery and replacement machine parts. These goods are typically bought in hardware stores, which gather them in one place for householders. The category is defined by where the items are used rather than by a single material or function, so it spans small fastening items, simple tools and fittings.
