Gerber multitools are a line of compact multitools made by Gerber Legendary Blades, a Portland, Oregon tool maker acquired by the Finnish company Fiskars Corporation in 1986. The tools use a sliding mechanism in which pliers extend straight out from the end of the tool, held closed by a Safe-T-Loc locking mechanism, and are made in sizes from small keychain models such as the Shortcut to heavier models such as the eight-ounce Diesel, with interchangeable components ranging from standard screwdrivers to specialized bits.
