The robotics industry designs, builds and sells robots for industrial, commercial and other use, drawing on the interdisciplinary field of robotics. Industrial robots are concentrated heavily in automotive manufacturing and other large scale production sectors. The industry was valued at about 45 billion US dollars in 2020 and was projected to grow at a compound annual rate of about 29 percent to reach roughly 568 billion dollars by 2030, growth that has also brought sustained attention to its effects on manufacturing employment.
