ABB is a Swedish-Swiss technology company operating in electrification and automation, incorporated as ABB Ltd and headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. It was formed in 1988 through the merger of two electrical engineering companies, ASEA of Sweden and Brown, Boveri and Cie of Switzerland, and its engineers and predecessor companies developed technologies including the miniature circuit breaker and industrial robotics innovations.
