The global industry that mines, manufactures and distributes fertilizer, the agricultural and chemical minerals added to soil to supply crops with nutrients, an industry valued at approximately 200 billion dollars. China is the world largest producer and consumer of nitrogen fertilizers, while the company Yara International is the world largest producer of nitrogen based fertilizer, and potash production is concentrated in Canada, Russia and Belarus, which together account for more than half of global output.
