Homer Hartman Stryker (1894-1980) was an American orthopedic surgeon, inventor and businessman who founded the medical technology company Stryker Corporation. Working from his own clinical experience, he invented devices intended to improve orthopedic care and patient comfort, including improvements that also made things easier for medical staff, and his company grew from those inventions into a major manufacturer of medical equipment.
