Baiju Bhatt

Founder and Executive

Baiju Prafulkumar Bhatt is an Indian American entrepreneur, born in 1984 or 1985, who co-founded Robinhood, served as its co-chief executive and now leads the space company Cowboy Space Corporation. The son of Gujarati immigrants from India, he grew up in Poquoson, Virginia, where his father worked at NASA's Langley Research Center. He earned a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in mathematics, completed in 2008, at Stanford, where he met Vlad Tenev. In 2013 the two co-founded the zero-commission trading platform Robinhood; Bhatt focused on product and design, and the mobile app launched in 2015 and won an Apple Design award that year. He stepped down as co-CEO in November 2020 to become chief creative officer, left that executive role in March 2024 while remaining on the board, and in October 2024 announced Aetherflux, a space-based solar energy startup that was renamed Cowboy Space Corporation in May 2026.
