Contact Energy

Contact Energy is a New Zealand electricity generator and a wholesaler of natural gas, and it retails electricity, natural gas, broadband and LPG to households and businesses. Headquartered in Wellington, it is the country's second largest electricity generator and holds the second largest share of the retail electricity market, at about 22 percent. The company was created in 1996 out of the breakup of the state owned Electricity Corporation of New Zealand and was listed on the stock exchange in 1999.
