This child group collects Metals and Mining members whose core mining operations are centered in Africa and the Middle East, including South Africa's gold, platinum and diversified mining houses (AngloGold Ashanti, Gold Fields, Impala Platinum, Sibanye-Stillwater, Valterra Platinum), West African gold producers (Ashanti Goldfields, Endeavour Mining, Volta Aluminium Company), De Beers' diamond mining operations, and other metals producers in the region. It is the smallest of the four regional child groups, reflecting this atlas's current company coverage rather than the region's real share of global mineral reserves.
