Oregon Short Line Railroad

The Oregon Short Line Railroad was a railroad serving Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Montana and Oregon, built as a Union Pacific Railway subsidiary to provide the shortest route from Wyoming to the Pacific Northwest. Incorporated in 1881 as the Oregon Short Line Railway, construction began that year at Granger, Wyoming and reached Huntington, Oregon in 1884. After Union Pacific's 1897 bankruptcy the company was reorganized and became part of the Union Pacific System in the 1898 Harriman reorganization, operating until 1987.
