Vermont Railway

Vermont Railway is a shortline railroad operating in Vermont and eastern New York, running much of the former Rutland Railway. It is the main part of the Vermont Rail System, which also owns the Green Mountain Railroad on the Rutland's former branch to Bellows Falls. The company employs about 150 people in Vermont; most of its Vermont trackage is owned by the Vermont Agency of Transportation, while in New York it operates over track owned by the Boston and Maine Railroad.
