This child group collects United States Railroads members headquartered or historically based in the Mountain Census division (Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah and Nevada). It includes the Colorado and Southern Railway, the Nevada Northern Railway, the Oregon Short Line Railroad, the San Diego and Arizona Railway and San Diego and Arizona Eastern Railway, the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad, the Santa Fe, Prescott and Phoenix Railway, the Butte, Anaconda and Pacific Railway of Montana, and the Colorado and Wyoming Railway. At 12 members it is the smallest of the nine divisional groups by member count and sits well under this atlas's oversized-group threshold, needing no further split.
