This child group collects English Railroads members headquartered or historically based in the East Midlands. It includes the North Midland Railway, an 1840 line from Derby to Leeds that merged into the Midland Railway in 1844; the Cromford and High Peak Railway, a Derbyshire line connecting two canal wharves across the High Peak; the Midland Counties Railway, a further Midland Railway predecessor; and the Mansfield Railway, a Nottinghamshire colliery line. At 4 members it is the smallest of the nine regional groups by member count and sits well under this atlas's oversized-group threshold, needing no further split.
