Chemin de fer de Lyon a la Mediterranee

The Chemin de fer de Lyon a la Mediterranee was a French railway company, formed in Paris on 27 March 1852 under director Paulin Talabot through the merger of several smaller railway concessions, that built and operated lines across southern France linking Lyon, Avignon, Marseille, Toulon and connecting mining and industrial regions, completing its Valence-to-Avignon section in 1854 and its Lyon-to-Valence link in 1855. On 11 April 1857 it merged with the Chemin de fer de Paris a Lyon and other companies to form the larger Chemins de fer de Paris a Lyon et a la Mediterranee, ending its own separate existence.
