Neuweiler Brewery

The Neuweiler Brewery, also known as Germania Brewery, was a brewery in Allentown, Pennsylvania, founded by Louis Neuweiler in 1900 after he bought out longtime local brewer Benedict Nuding. Its expanded facility, built between 1911 and 1913 by the Philadelphia architects Peuckert and Wunder and equipped with its own electricity generators, produced Light Lager, Cream Ale, Stock Ale, Premium Ale, seasonal Bock, Half and Half, Porter, and Stout, and was at one point among Allentown's largest employers before closing in 1968 due to competition from national breweries; the Ortlieb Brewery of Philadelphia later acquired its brand names and recipes.
