Wynn Resorts, Limited is an American casino and hotel resort company headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was founded in 2002 by casino developer Steve Wynn, shortly after he sold his previous company, Mirage Resorts, using the proceeds to build a new flagship property, Wynn Las Vegas, which opened on the Las Vegas Strip in 2005 on the former site of the Desert Inn. Wynn Resorts operates luxury casino resorts under the Wynn and Encore brands, with its portfolio including its original Las Vegas properties alongside major resorts it developed in Macau, the Chinese special administrative region that became the world's largest gambling market.
