Wagamama is a British restaurant chain serving pan-Asian dishes such as ramen, teppanyaki and donburi, founded in London by Alan Yau, with its first restaurant opening in Bloomsbury in 1992. The chain's name comes from a Japanese term meaning self-indulgent or picky, and it now operates roughly 228 restaurants, most in the United Kingdom with the remainder across other European and Middle Eastern countries plus a small number of company owned locations in the United States. Wagamama is owned by The Restaurant Group, itself controlled by the investment firm Apollo Global Management since 2023.
