Vertex Pharmaceuticals Incorporated is an American biotechnology company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, founded in 1989 in Cambridge, Massachusetts by Joshua Boger and colleagues. It became known for developing a series of drugs that treat the underlying genetic cause of cystic fibrosis, including Kalydeco and the combination drug Trikafta, and has expanded into treatments for pain and sickle cell disease and other genetic conditions.
