Triple Canopy, Inc. was an American private security and private military company that provided armed security, mission support and risk management services to corporate and government clients. It was founded in May 2003 by United States Army Special Forces veterans, among them former Delta Force operators, and its staff included many former special operations personnel such as Green Berets, Rangers, SEALs and MARSOC Raiders, as well as several law enforcement officers. In June 2014 it merged with the rival contractor Academi, formerly Blackwater, to form Constellis Group, with Academi's former chief executive Craig Nixon leading the new group and training consolidated at Academi's North Carolina facility. At the time of the merger more than 5,000 employees worked for Triple Canopy.
