TJX Companies, Inc. is an American off-price retail company headquartered in Framingham, Massachusetts, founded in 1976 as a division of the Zayre Corporation and spun off as an independent public company in 1989. It became the largest off-price apparel and home fashion retailer in the world, operating chains including T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods, which sell brand-name and designer merchandise at discounted prices.
