Teck Resources Limited is a Canadian mining company headquartered in Vancouver, one of Canada's largest diversified mining companies. Its roots reach back to 1913, when Teck Hughes Gold Mines was formed to develop a gold property in northern Ontario, and the company grew and consolidated over the following century through mergers with numerous other Canadian mining ventures, eventually taking the Teck name. Teck mines copper, zinc and steelmaking coal at operations across Canada, Chile, Peru and the United States, and it has stated an intention to shift its portfolio increasingly toward copper as demand for the metal grows with the transition to lower-carbon energy and transportation. The company sold a majority stake in its steelmaking coal business, Elk Valley Resources, to Glencore in 2024.
