Sabeco is Vietnam's leading beer producer, founded in 1875 by Victor Larue and headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, making brands including Bia Saigon and 333 Beer through 25 subsidiary companies with production of about 1.796 billion liters in 2018. Long majority-controlled by Vietnam's Ministry of Trade and Industry, the company was acquired in a 2018 deal in which Bangkok-based ThaiBev took a majority stake for 4.8 billion dollars, ending domestic state control.
