Public Service Enterprise Group Incorporated is an American energy holding company headquartered in Newark, New Jersey, created in 1985 as the parent company of Public Service Electric and Gas Company (PSE&G), itself formed in 1903 from the consolidation of numerous smaller New Jersey gas, electric and transit utilities. PSE&G remains New Jersey's largest electric and gas utility, and the wider group also owns a significant nuclear and other power-generation business through its PSEG Power subsidiary.
