Posteo is a German paid email service provider headquartered in Berlin, founded in 2009 by Patrik and Sabrina Lohr and privately owned by them. It offers webmail accounts available in more than 70 languages and built its reputation on privacy and security, becoming the first German email service to publish a transparency report on investigative and surveillance activity in May 2014 following the 2013 global surveillance disclosures. As of 2022 it had more than 500,000 active mail accounts.
