The Peoria and Rock Island Railroad was a 91 mile railroad company in the U.S. state of Illinois that provided service between the two cities named in its corporate title. It was chartered on March 7, 1867, built between 1867 and 1871, and began passenger service between Peoria and Rock Island on July 8, 1871. Its former right of way later became the 26 mile Rock Island Trail State Park.
