Ostravar Brewery is a Czech brewing company founded in 1897 in Ostrava as a joint stock company in Moravska Ostrava, with its first beer brewed in 1898. It produces pale draught beers and lagers, including Ostravar Original, Ostravar Mustang, Ostravar Premium and the wheat beer Ostravar Gavora, along with one of the few Czech dry stouts, branded Kelt. Its beer remained largely local to the Moravian-Silesian region until 2016, when the brewery opened its first restaurant, Ostravarna, and began expanding distribution across the Czech Republic; the company was acquired by Bass Brewery in 1997 following a merger with Prazske pivovary a.s., brewer of Staropramen.
